Pre-Order

A pre-order is the act of purchasing a product in the online store, which is not in stock now, because it is not released or produced yet, but it will be available in the future. Allowing customers to pre-order products in your webstore can be an efficient way to grow your online business. The pre-order feature can also help you to increase sales, revenue and profits for your business.

Material Pre-Order Requirements

Customers can easily pre-order materials in the Sana webstore, but there are some requirements which should be fulfilled for a material to be available for pre-order.

  1. A material must be orderable. A material must be correctly configured in SAP ECC.

  1. Pre-order must be allowed for a material in SAP ECC.

  1. The option Availability depends on stock should be enabled in Sana Admin: Setup > Products > Stock and assortment.

  1. The pre-order will work only if the quantity of a material is less or equals the number set for the Out of stock level. To set up stock levels, in Sana Admin click: Setup > Products > Stock levels.

Enable Pre-Order for Materials in SAP ECC

Open the Webstore Catalog Overview window in SAP ECC. You can access Webstore Catalog Overview either from the main menu of the Sana Commerce Cloud add-on (/n/sanaecom/webstore), or by calling the transaction /n/sanaecom/catover. Select the Pre-Order checkbox for the necessary materials.

Besides, you can make multiple materials available or unavailable for pre-order at once. To do this, click Update Pre-Orderability.

You can make materials within a certain range available or unavailable for pre-order. Specify the range and select or unselect the Pre-Orderability checkbox. Once you specify the range and set its pre-orderability, click the button Choose to save the changes.

Also, using the buttons Enable Pre-Order for All and Disable Pre-Order for All you can make all materials available or unavailable for pre-order in the webstore at once.

When a material is made available for pre-order in SAP ECC and other requirements are also fulfilled, then a customer will be able to pre-order a material in the Sana webstore.
