Unified Pricing Management: Sales Order Header Attributes and Pricing Calculation for Quotes

Unified pricing management is a relatively new pricing engine in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. Therefore, we continuously enhance our Sana ERP connector to provide full support for its capabilities. The latest updates introduce support for:

  • Sales order header attributes: Your sales orders now automatically pick up the right pricing details from the header attributes, giving you more control and accuracy when setting prices.

  • Quote pricing calculation: Pricing is now calculated for sales quotes, ensuring consistency and transparency throughout the entire sales process. In the first release, we added price support for sales orders only.

These updates ensure your pricing is more accurate and consistent throughout the entire sales process. Everything stays in sync with your ERP setup, making your day-to-day commerce operations smoother and more reliable.

Inventory Precision

Improved inventory precision ensures that products can only be ordered in complete units. Suppose the available stock is insufficient to fulfill a full unit, for example, only 8 pieces are available when a box contains 10 pieces. In that case, the system will prevent partial orders, avoiding fractional quantities like 1.5 boxes. This change enhances stock reliability and prevents fulfillment issues.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations uses the unit of measure rounding values provided by Sana Commerce Cloud to round down the available inventory, ensuring that only complete units can be ordered.

Previously, these settings only applied to the quantity input field and did not affect how stock was displayed on various pages. Now, everything is consistent.

Inventory is now displayed consistently across product pages, the shopping cart, and checkout, including the estimated availability dates. This ensures customers see accurate stock information at every step, reducing order errors and improving the buying experience.

Other Changes

Not all releases include numerous new features, but we continually make technical improvements to enhance the Sana ERP Connector's performance and reliability. These efforts support a stable, secure, and scalable platform for growth. Below you can see some of the improvements included in this release.

  • Avalara AvaTax: We have released a new Sana extension for Avalara AvaTax with improved performance.

  • Improved performance for intercompany scenarios: Optimized data handling to enhance speed and efficiency of basket calculation and order saving when intercompany functionality is used in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.

  • Updated manual process request templates: We have updated the templates that are available in the Manual process requests form for debugging and troubleshooting. Some of the request templates were outdated or missing.

  • Data management: Added support for the latest data entities used in the standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations tool to export and import data.

Bug Fixes

Below you will find a list of key bugs fixed in this release. We have not included every bug fix, focusing instead on the most critical ones.

  1. Fixed an issue where the wrong exceeded credit limit amount was shown in the shopping cart when the customer edited the order.

  2. Fixed an issue where the notes were not displayed in the free text invoice reports.

  3. Fixed an issue with certain checkout header fields added to the shopping cart, which were causing an error during basket calculation.

  4. Fixed multiple issues when the negative price could be shown in the shopping cart, particularly when multiline discounts and gift cards or multiline and mix & match discounts were applied.

  5. Fixed multiple issues with free items when unified pricing management is enabled, including displaying 0 price for products with free items and duplication of the free item line when converting a quote to an order.

  6. Fixed an issue where the basket calculation used a sales category instead of a product when the sales category name matched the product ID.
