NOTE

To allow B2C customers to register in the webstore online, you must set up the necessary settings in Sana Admin and SAP Business One. For more information about settings in Sana Admin, see B2C Customer Registration.

B2C customers are customers who always register in the webstore online.

If webstore visitors visit your webstore for the first time and want to register as B2C customers, on the Login page in the Sana webstore, they must select the Consumer customer type. The choice between Consumer and Business is only available if you have both B2C and B2B registrations enabled.

On the Login page, a customer can enter an e-mail address. This field is not required. If a customer enters an e-mail address, it will be automatically filled in on the Creating a new account page.

Then, on the Creating a new account page, a B2C customer can register online by specifying personal data, like name, address, e-mail and password that will be used to log in to the webstore.

All other data, like currency, invoice discounts, tax information is copied from the customer template assigned to the country in SAP Business One. Therefore, you must set up the necessary countries and customer templates required for customer registration.

After B2C customers register in the Sana webstore, they will receive an e-mail informing them about successful registration. Confirmation e-mails are the first line of official communication that a webstore owner has with customers once they have registered in a webshop. By creating an account in your webstore, your customers will receive the welcome e-mails. The New Shop Account e-mail template is used to send a welcome e-mail to a customer.

When a B2C customer registers online in the Sana web store, the customer (business partner) is created in SAP Business One based on the customer template associated with the country in ERP and data entered by the customer during registration. After registration the shop account is automatically created, activated and approved in Sana Admin.

Create Template Customers

Use the Business Partner Master Data to create template customers. Template customers are customer records that should be predefined with data, like currency and tax information. This data will be automatically copied from the template customer associated with the country to the newly registered customer, guest customer, or prospect.

Assign a B2C Customer Template to the Countries

When B2C customers register in the Sana web store online, customers select the country they live in. In SAP Business One you must set up those countries which must be shown in your web store and assign the necessary customer templates.

Step 1: In SAP Business One click: Web Store > Setup > Countries Visibility.

Step 2: In the Web Store Name field, select the necessary web store.

Step 3: Enable the Visible checkbox for those countries which must be shown in the Sana web store.

Step 4: In the B2C Template Customer column, assign the necessary customer template.

For more information, see Countries.

Customer (Business Partner) Type

There are several business partner types in SAP Business One - CompanyPrivateGovernment and Employee.

When a customer registers in the Sana web store online, you can decide which type of a business partner should be created in SAP Business One. All B2C customers who register online in the Sana web store will be saved to SAP Business One with the selected customer type. Sana can create business partners of a Company or Private type.

To set up a customer registration type, in SAP Business One click: Web Store > Web Stores. In the Web Stores window, on the General tab, use the New B2C Customer Registration Type field.

If you create business partners of the Private type, then along with the business partner, the contact person will be created. If you create business partners of the Company type, then the contact person will not be created.

If you open the business partner master data in SAP Business One, on the General tab, in the Type of Business field, you can see whether a customer is of a Private or Company type.

On the Web Store tab, you can see the customer type. In the B2C customer field, you can see whether the customer is B2C or B2B.
