Data Validation Rules

As a user of SAP S/4HANA in addition to the standard SAP S/4HANA data validation, you can set up Sana specific validation rules.
Set Up Data Validation Rules
Data validation rules affect data retrieving. For example, you can configure validation rules which define if a product is orderable or a customer is allowed to order. Only data which satisfies the selected criteria can be processed by Sana.
Step 1: Open the Webstore Rules app in the SAP Fiori Launchpad. Select a webstore. If you have multiple webstores, you can set up data validation rules for each webstore.
Step 2: Select Product or Customer. You can set up validation rules to validate product data and customer data.
Step 3: To add a data validation rule, click Add.
The table below provides the description of the data validation rule fields.

Select the SAP S/4HANA table to which the validation rule should be applied. You can apply validation rules to the customer and product master data and also to other related data. |

Enter the field value. |
Value (High) |
If you select Between in the Criteria Operator field, then you can enter the field values range in the Value (Low) and Value (High) fields. |
Validation Rule Message |
The error message of the validation rule which is shown, if data does not pass validation. The error messages for the products which do not pass validation are shown in the Catalog Overview table, in the Non Orderable Reason field. For more information, see Catalog Overview. The error messages for the customers who do not pass validation are shown in the Webstore Customers Overview table, in the Validation Message field. For more information, see Customer Overview. |
Step 5: Select the Active Rule option to activate data validation rules. Only active validation rules affect data retrieving.
Sana adds a few validation rules for customers and products by default, for example not to index deleted materials and customers, materials without a unit of measure and blocked customers.
