Webshop administrators can offer an optimized assortment of products to the customers. Offering the best mix of products is essential to customers' satisfaction. This way a webshop administrator can optimize the catalog with products that appeal to all customers as well as products targeted to the individual customers.

Use the Customer Assortment table to specify which items should be shown to and hidden from different customers.

To open this table, in Microsoft Dynamics NAV click: Departments > Webshop > Tasks > Customer Assortment.

At the top pane, you can filter the customer assortment rules.

Use the table under the filters pane to configure the customer assortment rules. The table below provides the description of the fields.

NOTE

The last modified date of all items affected by the rule automatically updates starting from Sana Commerce Cloud 10.0.9 in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

Once the customer assortment rules are configured, you need to start the Product import task in Sana Admin.

Customer Assortment with Item Filter

If you create customer assortment rules using Item Filter, you can specify a range of items which you want to show to or hide from the customer or customer price group.

When you select Item Filter in the Type field, then you can select the necessary item field in the Code field. Item fields are used to filter the items based on their values.

Then, in the Value field, you can enter the necessary value for the Item Filter using the standard NAV filter criteria and symbols. For more detailed information about special symbols used for filtering in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, see Searching, Filtering, and Sorting Data on the Microsoft website.

It is useful to create customer assortment rules using Item Filter, when you need to specify a range of items which you want to show to or hide from a customer or customer price group. In such a way, you can specify not just one item or one item characteristic in one customer assortment rule, but a list of items you want to show to or hide from your customer or customer price group. Thus, you don’t have to create separate lines for each of your customer assortment rules when in fact, it is one line.

For example, if you want a specific customer or group of customers to see items only with the numbers from 100 to 500, you can create one customer assortment rule for the item No. field with the following criteria 100..500. You can also use other standard ERP filters, such as > or <, to set up customer assortment criteria for the item fields the way you need.

NOTE

All products which are added to the Customer Assortment table are customer specific. This means that they are shown in the webshop only to the customers set in the customer assortment rules.

NOTE

Limitation:

If the customer or customer price group is listed in any of the deny rules, the following customer or customer price group will not see the item or product group or item category from this rule, even if there is another rule which allows to see it.

For example, there is a customer price group for which a certain item is denied. And there is another rule, set for an individual customer from this customer price group that says that the item that is denied for the customer price group is allowed for this specific customer from the group. In this situation, the rule which allows to see the product for a specific customer from the customer price group does not override the rule which denies an item to be shown to the customer price group. Therefore, a customer still will not see an item.
