Sana Commerce Cloud Migration

We would like to welcome many customers on our new Sana Commerce Cloud platform. It is possible that you are currently running on Sana Commerce 9 and want to migrate. How long it takes to migrate to Sana Commerce Cloud depends on many factors, such as:

  • Current Sana version: our latest Sana Commerce 9 version is 9.3.5. It will be easier for a customer running on a newer version to migrate. This must be assessed on a case-to-case basis by the involved team.
  • The amount of content: content elements cannot be automatically migrated to Sana Commerce Cloud. It will be easier for customers that do not have a lot of flexi-pages (renamed to “Content Pages” in Sana Commerce Cloud) to migrate to Sana Commerce Cloud. The following factors play a role here:
    • Total number of flexi-pages: you can easily find out in your current Sana Admin how many flexi-pages you have in the overview. If you only have a few pages, it will be less time-consuming.

    • Usage of add-ons: some flexi-pages only contain plain text and some images. This is much easier to copy opposing to pages where you have many content add-ons (e.g. flexi-tiles etc.).

    • Usage of content on Product List Pages / Product Details Pages / System pages: the header / footer content elements used on these pages cannot be migrated. You can find more information on this page.

    • Technical knowledge / experience: some Sana users are tech-savvy and experienced with CMS systems (e.g. WordPress). These users will have an advantage over users that do not have any experience with any CMS systems at all.

  • Standard vs. custom: it will be easier for standard customers to migrate. It could be that you are running on an older Sana version and that certain functionality is now part of the standard product. We can perform such analysis for you. In that case, such custom work is no longer needed. This is probably a good moment for you to reconsider the need for specific customizations for your web store.
  • SaaS vs. non-SaaS: SaaS customers will always run on the latest version. SaaS customers will get help from Sana to migrate to Sana Commerce Cloud. More details can be found here.
