Set Up inriver to Use Separate Product Attribute Values for Product Filtering

In inriver it is possible to use multiple attribute values for product filtering in inriver. Sana, in its turn, allows to split product attribute values and show each value separately or together in the facetted filters in the webstore on the left of the product list and search results pages.

There are two ways to configure multiple product attribute values in inriver. You can use the one which is more suitable for you.

Set Up Multiple Product Attribute Values in inriver Using the Fields of the CVL Type

Step 1: In Sana Admin click: System > Scheduled tasks. In the settings of the Product import scheduled task, enable the Split product attributes based on separator option. Also enter the separator to specify multiple attribute values.

Step 2: Open the inriver configuration page in Sana Admin and in the Separator field enter the same separator that you entered in the settings of the Product import scheduled task.

Step 3: Open the inriver Control Center and create the necessary CVL with the values.

Step 4: Go to the inriver Product Model and in the Fields section, create a field of a CVL type. Make sure that the Multivalue checkbox is selected for this field.

Step 5: Open the inriver Enrichment Portal and select the necessary attribute values for the products. Then, in Sana Admin click: System > Scheduled tasks and run the General information import scheduled task.

Step 6: To configure product filtering, you need to set up filter fields and facetted filters in Sana Admin.

Click: Setup > Search & filters > Filter fields. You need to add the created in inriver field to the filter fields table.

Then, click: Setup > Search & filters > Facetted filters. On the Facetted filters tab, you can set up filtering of products by adding filters to the webstore on the product list and search results pages.

Using facetted filters, a customer can filter the products in the webstore, for example by color, size or brand. The facetted filters are shown in the webstore on the left of the product list and search results pages.

Add the created in inriver field to the facetted fields table and configure it.

Step 7: In Sana Admin click: System > Scheduled tasks and run the Product import scheduled task.

Once all of the steps are fulfilled, the product attribute values will be shown separately in the webstore in the facetted filters on the left of the product list and search results pages.

Set Up Multiple Product Attribute Values in inriver Using the Fields of the String Data Type

Step 1: In Sana Admin click: System > Scheduled tasks. In the settings of the Product import scheduled task, enable the Split product attributes based on separator option. Also enter the separator to specify multiple attribute values.

Step 2: Go to the inriver Product Model and in the Fields section create a field of the String data type.

Step 3: Open the inriver Enrichment Portal and enter the necessary attribute values for the products using the same separator that you entered in the settings of the Product import scheduled task. Then, in Sana Admin click: System > Scheduled tasks and run the General information import scheduled task.

Step 4: To configure product filtering, you need to set up filter fields and facetted filters in Sana Admin.

Click: Setup > Search & filters > Filter fields. You need to add the created in inriver field to the filter fields table.
