What’s New?

The Christmas and New Year’s holidays is a time of celebration and gifts and we have one for you. This is a special Sana Commerce Cloud release for us. We have prepared a special New Year’s gift for our customers and we hope you like it. This is a new product details page.

Product Details Page

To replace the old product details page where you could only add product descriptions, images, and content above or below the page content, we created a new, fully editable product details page.

All page elements, such as product title, price, stock, description, images, specifications, etc. are now available as content elements that you can place on the page as you wish. The product details page has about 30 standard elements that are now available as content elements that can be placed anywhere on the page. You can add and remove any standard content elements on the product details page and those that are available as add-ons. Now you can create a fully customized product details page without writing any code.

There is a system page that is used as a template for all product details pages, but you can also change any specific product details page if you want it to look different.

This is the first release of the new product details page, so we will continue to improve it and add new features.

Product Details Page Deprecated Features

Tabs

The following content was presented using tabs on the product details pages:

  • Full product description
  • Product specifications
  • Reviews
  • Product attachments
  • Related products

These tabs are now available as separate content elements providing more flexibility. By default, these new content elements are displayed below each other on the page, but the layout for desktop and mobile can be changed using the Visual Designer. This way it is also possible to re-arrange these content elements so they are displayed next to each other or mixed with other content elements, providing flexibility in the presentation and variety of the content.

Print Preview

Because the product details page is now fully editable and you can add any content elements there and place them as you want, we have removed the print preview functionality. This does not mean that you cannot print a product details page if you need it. You can print any web page using the standard print functionality of a web browser.

Bug Fixes

One of the benefits of the minor releases on a regular basis is that you constantly receive bug fixes. Below you can see the list of some bugs that we fixed in this release. We do not add all bug fixes, but only the most important ones, since there are many technical fixes, minor design fixes, or performance-related fixes that we do not add to the release notes.

  1. Fixed issue with removing the language that is selected for the webstore domain.
  2. Fixed issue with tax number format validation when only one country is used.
  3. Fixed issue with creating a sales quote when a customer exceeds the credit limit.
  4. Fixed issue with applying a Sana discount code when one of the amounts, including or excluding tax, is not set.
  5. Fixed issue with importing product images when there is an image with the wrong file name format.
  6. Fixed issue with recalculating the shipping cost when basket total has changed.
