Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations License

NOTE

Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations is now two applications – Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. Actually, this is still one application divided by license. Microsoft has changed their licensing model and Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations is now being licensed as two separate applications. This means that these applications can be now purchased individually. But it is important to understand that Sana uses functionality of both applications.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Retail is now called Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce.

Depending on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations setup and your needs, additional Microsoft licenses may be required to run Sana.

NOTE

For communication between Sana and Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, you must have a user with the correct permissions. The credentials of this user must be specified in the ERP connection settings in Sana. For more information, see Create Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations User.

This user must have access to the functionality of both applications - Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management.

Even though Microsoft divided Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations into two separate applications, this change applies only to the licensing model and prices, but the functionality remains the same.

Sana uses functionality of both applications - Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management.

Sana also supports Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce which is also distributed and licensed by Microsoft as a standalone application.

NOTE

Please note that Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce functionality is also licensed by Sana. If you want to use the retail functionality of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce such as price adjustments, various discounts, coupons and retail assortments, you must select the AX for retail add-on when you request the Sana license. Make sure that the retail add-on is included in your Sana license.

Only Sana Partners can request Sana licenses. If you are a customer, please contact your Sana Project Manager or Sana Partner.

To use Sana for Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, you must have the Microsoft licenses for both applications - Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management.

NOTE

To allow sales agents to place orders on behalf of the prospective customers in the Sana web store, your Microsoft Dynamics 365 license must contain the configuration key Sales and marketing series.

If you also need to use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce, then you will need an additional Microsoft license.
