B2B Customer Registration

In recent years, those in B2B businesses have become increasingly interested in digital transformation. More and more businesses are switching to online sales instead of or in addition to in-person sales. This has been influenced by various factors, such as the digitalization of society and COVID-19. Despite all of this, many B2B webstores are missing one or several features that could increase sales and improve the customer experience, for example, online customer registration for B2B customers. Moreover, if you serve both B2C and B2B customers, you may need to request different information about B2C and B2B customers during registration.

Therefore, in Sana Commerce Cloud 1.51, in addition to B2C customer registration, we added the ability for B2B customers to also register online in the Sana webstore. But until now it has not been supported for webstores connected to SAP ECC.

Thus, we implemented customer templates for B2B customers in SAP ECC. Similar to customer templates for B2C customers, you can now create separate customer templates for B2B customers with the necessary predefined data, such as currency and tax information, and assign these customer templates to the necessary countries to which you sell your products.

These customer templates with the predefined data are used to create B2B customers in SAP ECC when they register online in the Sana webstore. You can still create shop accounts in Sana Admin for those B2B customers who already exist in SAP ECC, or new B2B customers can register online in the Sana webstore.
