Enable Automatic Sales Tax Calculation for Sana with Avalara AvaTax

If you have Avalara AvaTax which integrates with your Microsoft Dynamics ERP system for real-time sales tax calculations, then Sana Commerce Cloud can also support it. You will need to install a separate Sana Commerce add-on on top of Sana Commerce Cloud in your ERP system which provides support for Avalara AvaTax.

How to Integrate Sana Commerce Cloud with Avalara AvaTax

Microsoft Dynamics NAV

Sana Commerce delivers separate packages for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 and higher to use Sana with Avalara AvaTax. These packages are available on demand. If you want to use Sana Commerce Cloud with Avalara AvaTax, Sana ERP Partners can request the necessary Microsoft Dynamics NAV package with Avalara AvaTax support on the Sana Community website.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Cloud – Sana Commerce delivers the Avalara AvaTax Connector application which is available on Microsoft AppSource.

    You can install the Avalara AvaTax Connector application either from Microsoft AppSource or using the Extension Marketplace directly in your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Cloud.

  • On-Premises – Sana Commerce delivers a separate Avalara AvaTax Connector dependent extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central On-Premises. It is available on demand.

    To install it, you must follow the standard Microsoft procedure. For more information, see Publishing and Installing an Extension on the Microsoft website.

Before installing the Avalara AvaTax Connector application into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central:

  • Sana Commerce Cloud must be already installed in your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Avalara AvaTax must be already installed in your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • You must use the North America (NA) localization.

When the Avalara AvaTax Connector application is installed into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, you must activate it. To do this, open the Webshop Card and click Avalara Setup. Enable the Avalara Connector.

Microsoft Dynamics AX

Sana Commerce delivers separate packages for Microsoft Dynamics AX to use Sana Commerce Cloud with Avalara AvaTax. These packages are available on demand.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations

Sana Commerce delivers a separate Sana Commerce extension for Avalara AvaTax which can be installed on top of Sana Commerce Cloud in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. This extension is available on demand.

Microsoft Dynamics GP

Starting from Sana Commerce Cloud 10.0.43 for Microsoft Dynamics GP, the Sana Commerce Cloud add-on includes the changes needed to use Avalara AvaTax.

Once you integrate Sana Commerce Cloud with Avalara AvaTax in your Microsoft Dynamics ERP system, taxes calculated by Avalara AvaTax will be shown to your customers in the shopping cart of the Sana webstore. When a customer adds some products to the shopping cart in the Sana webstore, Avalara AvaTax calculates sales tax real-time and returns it to Sana.
