Upgrade Sana in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009-2017

Before you start upgrading Sana in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, make sure that you have the correct Sana add-on for your Microsoft Dynamics NAV version. This is the package with the Microsoft Dynamics NAV objects for a specific Microsoft Dynamics NAV version. Sana partners can download the Sana packages for different Microsoft Dynamics NAV versions or request those that are delivered on demand on the Sana Community website.

Please note, that if you want to use the features from the latest Sana release, you should also upgrade your Sana webshop. You can find the release notes for all Sana versions on the Sana help site.

To upgrade the Sana add-on in Microsoft Dynamics NAV:

  1. Create a backup of your Microsoft Dynamics NAV database before upgrading it.

  1. Take the “*.fob” or “*.txt” files from the NAV package which corresponds to your Microsoft Dynamics NAV version and localization.

  1. If you did any customizations to the Sana NAV objects, you have to merge them manually to avoid losing your changes.

  1. Import the merged objects into your Microsoft Dynamics NAV system. If you have imported the objects from the “*.txt” files, you have to compile them. Note, that the “*.txt” files are exported using the US date/time format.

  1. Close the Microsoft Dynamics NAV client, if it is opened, and restart the NAV services or NAS.

  2. Open the Microsoft Dynamics NAV client and click: Departments > Webshop > Lists > Webshops. Open the Webshop Card of your Sana webshop. It will automatically trigger checking of all Sana operations and add all new operations, if there are any.
