Capture Payments

NOTE

Payment capture strategies integrated with ERP are available only in Sana Pay+. If you use Sana Pay with the standard settings only, then all payments are captured based on the settings in the Sana Pay payment system.

Depending on the payment methods you are using, the payment can be completed in two steps:

  1. Authorization – The payment details of the customer are verified, and the funds are reserved.

  1. Capture – The reserved funds are transferred from the customer to the merchant account.

Not all payment methods support authorization and capture separately. For payment methods that support separate authorization and capture, you can capture the payment later, for example after the goods have been shipped. This allows you to cancel the payment in case of any issues with the shipment.

To learn if a payment method supports separate captures, see Supported Payment Methods. There you can see whether the payment method supports payment capture and partial capture.

Payment captures are fully automated and integrated with the ERP system.

Limitations

  • Payment capture is not compatible with prepayments in ERP. You cannot use Sana Pay payment capture and prepayments in ERP at the same time. Auto posting prepayments must be also disabled in ERP.
