UPS Metric Troubleshooting

  • Customer's currency should be the same as the UPS Metric return rates currency. The shipping costs calculated by UPS Metric are returned to Sana in the currency based on the merchant's shipping origin. See the list of currencies supported by UPS.

For example, if your shipping origin is the UK, your customer’s currency must be pound sterling (GBP).

  • The service type configured in the UPS Metric shipping method settings should match your country of destination.

  • An item should have item dimensions in the ERP system.

    • When you set up UPS Metric shipping methods, the item units of measure configured in ERP should match the units of measure set in the Sana UOM field in the UPS Metric shipping method settings.

    • Item dimensions in ERP should not exceed the maximum item dimensions of the packaging type allowed by UPS.

  • If in the Sana trace logs there is an exception without any description related to UPS Metric, most probably this is because of the wrong UPS Metric configuration. An error can occur when UPS Metric cannot calculate the shipping rates due to invalid data in the request. To avoid an exception, a webstore administrator must carefully configure the UPS Metric add-on in Sana Admin. Check whether the settings listed below are correctly configured:

    • Provide a valid service URL and UPS user credentials.

    • Provide a valid shipping origin.

  • If the data mentioned above is valid, but the exception still occurs, then try to calculate shipping rates using the UPS shipping calculator. If the UPS shipping calculator can calculate the shipping rates using the same data, then contact Sana support for further investigation.
