UPS Imperial Troubleshooting

  • Customer's currency should be the same as the UPS Imperial return rates currency. The shipping costs calculated by UPS Imperial are returned to Sana in the currency based on the merchant's shipping origin. See the list of currencies supported by UPS.

For example, if your shipping origin is the USA, your customer’s currency must be United States Dollar (USD).

  • The service type configured in the UPS Imperial shipping method settings should match your country of destination. Some service types support domestic shipments and some are for international shipments.

  • An item should have item dimensions in the ERP system.

    • Item dimensions in ERP should be available for all required units of measure.

    • Item dimensions in ERP should not exceed the maximum item dimensions of the packaging type allowed by UPS.

    • When you set up UPS Imperial shipping methods, the item units of measure configured in ERP should match the units of measure set in the Sana UOM field in the UPS Imperial shipping method settings. For more information, see the examples in the table below.

  • If in the Sana trace logs there is an exception without any description related to UPS Imperial, most probably this is because of the wrong UPS Imperial configuration. An error can occur when UPS Imperial cannot calculate the shipping rates due to invalid data in the request. To avoid an exception, a webstore administrator must carefully configure the UPS Imperial add-on in Sana Admin. Check whether the settings listed below are correctly configured:

    • Provide a valid service URL and UPS user credentials.

    • Provide the valid shipper number if the negotiated rates are enabled.

    • Provide a valid shipping origin.

  • If the data mentioned above is valid, but the exception still occurs, then try to calculate shipping rates using the UPS shipping calculator. If the UPS shipping calculator can calculate the shipping rates using the same data, then contact Sana support for further investigation.
