Video Content Element Height

When you add a video to a web page, the video player will maintain the proper aspect ratio of the source video.

If you set the minimum element height for the video, the video might not look good on the page. We recommend to preview the page and make sure that the video looks good before saving the changes. Check the scenarios below to find out how video will look like on the page, if different minimum element height is applied.

Scenario 1

The applied minimum element height exceeds the height of the video.

Result

YouTube video: the aspect ratio of the video will not change, but you will see the black bars on the top and the bottom of the video.

Vimeo video: the aspect ratio of the video will not change, but you will see the white bars on the top and the bottom of the video.

Scenario 2

The applied minimum element height does not exceed the height of the video.

Result

YouTube and Vimeo videos will maintain the proper aspect ratio.
