Dimension-Based Product Configuration

Dimension-based product configuration allows to create many product variants from a single product master and its bill of materials. This is a standard feature of Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations which is now supported by Sana.

The dimension-based product configuration is best used for products when the combination of the standard product dimensions size, color, style, and configuration is unsuitable for identifying a specific product variant. It provides flexibility to a customer to create unique, custom products in the Sana webstore.

For example, if you are selling different bicycle parts and components, such as frames, wheels, brake types, and different gears, using dimension-based configuration, you can allow your customers to design unique, custom bikes.

Moreover, you can create configuration rules to enforce or prevent certain combinations of BOM lines. You can configure a rule which allows a customer to select a specific product component only in combination with another component.
