What’s New?

Improved Display of Supplementary Items

In this release, we have made the display of supplementary items in the shopping cart, checkout, and order confirmation e-mails more intuitive and transparent.

Supplementary items are extra items added to the shopping cart automatically when a certain quantity of an item or a combination of items is purchased, or as a bonus. These items cannot be removed or edited by customers.

Different ERP systems offer various functionalities for this purpose. For example, Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations and Microsoft Dynamics AX refer to this feature as supplementary items, while SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC provide the free goods functionality. In Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Microsoft Dynamics NAV, you can use mix & match discounts, which include the automatic addition of a free item.

With this release, supplementary items in the shopping cart, checkout, and order confirmation e-mails are now visually grouped with their parent items. This visual grouping occurs only if the ERP system allows a supplementary item to be linked to a parent item. This design enhancement helps webstore visitors better understand which supplementary items are included in their order and the items they belong to, because earlier supplementary items were always displayed at the end of the list in the shopping cart.

Now, they appear directly below their associated parent item. If a supplementary item has no parent item, it will be listed at the end of the shopping cart.

In the order overview at the checkout, there is no horizontal separator between the parent and the supplementary items that are linked together.

Bug Fixes

One of the benefits of the minor releases on a regular basis is that you constantly receive bug fixes. Below you can see the list of some bugs that we fixed in this release. We do not add all bug fixes, but only the most important ones, since there are many technical fixes, minor design fixes, or performance-related fixes that we do not add to the release notes.

  1. Fixed an issue where the Blog page displays an incorrect canonical URL when a non-default view mode is selected.
  2. Fixed an issue with the Google Analytics select_item event that is triggered by clicking on the supplementary item title or image in the shopping cart does not contain information about the supplementary line.
  3. Fixed an issue with the Product set content element on new webstores, where adding the element to the visual designer and attempting to create a new product set results in no product set being created.
  4. Fixed an issue with the error showing in the shopping cart when a product with the applied sales agreement is added.
  5. Fixed an issue with the Guided product finder app dropdown list display format in mobile layout, causing the dropdown to disappear after tapping the search bar.

  9. Fixed an issue where the product title is shown instead of the variant title on the Quote details page.
  10. Fixed an issue with the attachments uploaded during checkout that cannot be opened after an order is placed, instead the error is shown on the page.
