Why a New Sana Product, and Not a New Version?
When we say that we created a new Sana Commerce Cloud product and not a new version of Sana, we do not mean that we first made a “car”, and now we have rebuilt it into an “airplane”.
We continue to do what we love - ERP integration, investing in new functionality, design, technology, and of course innovation.
So, why Sana Commerce Cloud is a new product and not a new version of Sana?
To explain this, I will need to tell you a little about technical changes in Sana.
Why? Because the reason why Sana Commerce Cloud is a new product is inside Sana, so to say under the hood of Sana.

Think of a car. Many can drive a car without knowing the internal components it consists of, what is under the hood and how it works. Most people never even look at the car’s engine which is under the hood. But your car’s engine is the most important, and everything else under the hood revolves around it. Your car’s engine is responsible for making your car move.

The transmission is the second most important part of the car. It takes the power generated by the engine and transmits it to the wheels allowing you to drive the car. Most people don’t understand how it all works, nor do they need to in order to drive the car.
Same thing with software products. End users don’t need to know what is under the hood of a software product and how it all works inside to use it. But software products also have an engine and other parts without which they will not work. No matter whether you are a mechanical engineer or a software developer, you need to know what’s happening under the hood, because it gives you insight into things the end users cannot see.
Everything needs improvement. Therefore, any product must be constantly improved to keep up with the times and technologies. In a world where technology is changing rapidly, there comes a time when you need to not just improve or change something but create something new. So, we decided this is the high time for Sana to create a new product and we rebuilt it under the hood.
