GMV: Understanding and Tracking
What is GMV?
GMV stands for Gross Merchandise Value, which represents the total monetary value of all the products sold through the Sana Platform over a specific period. It is a metric that reflects the usage of the e-commerce platform. However, GMV does not account for returns, backorders, etc., and may include fees and taxes.
GMV = # of products ordered X sales price
GMV is measured annually, starting from the license start date.
GMV Measurement
Typically, only transactions related to placing orders are included in the GMV, such as:
-
Placing and editing a sales order
-
Converting a sales quote into an order
-
Punchout orders
-
Subscription orders
Payment transactions not associated with order placement through the e-commerce platform do not count toward the GMV threshold.
How Does Sana Track GMV?
We gather the relevant data from the platform, similar to how a telecom company tracks the minutes used in a phone plan.
