SAP ECC and SAP S/4 HANA License

To connect Sana to SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA, you must have an Indirect Access License. SAP requires this license from their customers who access the SAP system indirectly via a third-party application, like Sana. Sana connects to SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA via a Web service.
Quite often, users are confused about the type of license they need to integrate their SAP system with Sana. To help SAP customers understand which type of license they need to integrate with the third-party applications, SAP published the Indirect Access Guide for SAP ERP customers. In this document, SAP described different types of access and common indirect access scenarios and respective required SAP licenses.
Referring to the "legacy" model, example 1 states, a consumer placing an order in SAP ERP via a non-SAP online storefront requires licensing of Sales and Service Order Processing Engine. Please contact your SAP Account Executive for details on which specific license best fits your needs and associated costs of such.
In April 2018, SAP introduced an additional form of outcome-based licensing. In the document ERP Pricing for the Digital Age, SAP outlines 3 different options that come with such licensing, including option 1 – Do nothing. You are not required to change your license model to integrate with Sana Commerce, it is optional.
